Online Collaboration Lesson
Process
In a group with 5 other classmates, we chose a topic—Building Culture Through Online Collaboration—and created a 30-minute lesson in Canvas. Through this activity, I experienced working efficiently and collaboratively in a group, following the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) design model and meeting project deadlines. The lesson included asynchronous activities and an evaluation. We followed Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction to deliver content in engaging ways and encourage active learning. We integrated videos, Web 2.0 tools—Padlet, Tricider and Dotstorming—and Articulate Storyline 360 during the lesson. An instructional plan was also submitted to accompany the lesson.
